CSAWhat is a CSA?

It’s Community Supported Agriculture – as a community member, you buy into a “share” of the farm, typically at the beginning of the season.  The share consists of a bag of seasonal vegetables and fruits that have been grown on Sweet Earth Farm.  We typically provide a good variety of produce, enough to feed a family of four, with the understanding that less produce is available in the shoulder seasons (spring and late fall).

What can we expect?

You can expect a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.  Some of the vegetables we have planned include lettuces, braising greens, carrots, beets, tomatoes, eggplant, broccoli and other brassicas, onions, garlic, cabbage, cauliflower, peas, beans, radishes, peppers, and more.  For fruits, you can expect strawberries, apples, pear and plums.

Dates and Costs

Summer CSA dates: July 5th – September 27th.  Cost: $25/week = $325 (small shares availalbe for $15/week, month to month, or a week at a time depending on availability).

Fall CSA dates: yet to be determined – will update as the season progresses…

For an extra $7 a week, we will provide you with a dozen chicken or duck eggs (1/2 Dozen $5).

Additional farm products, such as pork, chicken and turkey may be available at the farm stand.

Pick up:

Your bag of produce will be available on Wednesday afternoons after 2 p.m. Your bag of produce can be picked up at Sweet Earth Farm, 16 Sweet Earth Lane at the Red Barn.  If you are unable to pick up your bag of produce on a given Wednesday, please let us know or make arrangements for someone else to pick it up for you.  If it is not picked up by Thursday morning and we have not heard from you, we will keep your produce and you will be charged.

We are looking forward to another healthy, bountiful and successful growing season and are excited to share it with you!
