We are raising Freedom Ranger Chickens, a slower-growing broiler chicken. The chickens are moved to new pastures daily and are supplemented with high-quality organic feed from Scratch & Peck. Scratch & Peck feed is certified organic, non-GMO project verified, soy-free, raw, and whole grain. It is minimally processed and is mill to order in the Pacific Northwest.
The standard supermarket chicken has been bred to grow exceptionally quickly, in only 6 weeks!, which results in leg deformities, poor foraging abilities, and a generally much unhealthier chicken, which is reflected in the quality of meat.
Freedom Rangers are a higher quality, genetically superior chicken compared to the standard supermarket chicken. Freedom Rangers are slower growing, good foragers, much healthier, slaughtered at 12 weeks, and you can taste it in the quality of the meat, both in flavor and texture.
